In the aftermath of the Harveyville Horror, the KAG sent my project back. Like most, a lot of parts were missing including the entire barrel assembly and the front trunnion so I bought a another kit to contine with the project. Now I have gotten another package from the KAG containing the entire barrel assembly installed on the trunnion.

I had understood that the trunnion gets riveted to the receiver first and then the barrel gets pressed in. Can I just rivet the assembled barrel & trunnion to the receiver, doing the rear rivets in the conventional manner and installing the forward two pairs using the barrel as a buck or do I need to press out the pin, press out the barrel and start over?

Thanks

I would press it out and do it correctly if I was you.

Using the barrel as a buck dosnt make for a tight fitting rivet.

Start over.

Gucciano probably did NOT set the headspace AT ALL on your barrel/trunion assembly.

Do it again yourself.

The thing that really bothers me about that FAKE Gucciano is the fact that a person CAN build HIS OWN AK fairly easily with all the parts, receivers and tools that are now available. Gucciano was a flat out frickin con-man. Nothing more.

In fact, that's exactly what I am fixing to order up the parts to do, build my OWN AK.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to press the barrel out, rivet the trunnion to the receiver then press it back. I got back the same barrel, trunnion and bolt that I had sent into the void and they were part of a matching PMKMS kit from Global Trades. If the guys at Radom did their jobs, hopefully the headspace will be close with the original barrel drilling.

Thanks again.
