Do you have to pay for the ammo you shoot?

If you have a way of procuring ammo for free, do tell us, mmmkay?

There might be a way to shoot for free but that would depend on your gender, age, relative body weight, and a number of other factors...

OTOH, I do know of a way to shoot all kinds of cool full-auto stuff and not only will the ammo be free, but they will pay you to do it! (I've done it myself so I know it works) -

- First, get out the yellow pages and turn to the page under "recruiters"...

- On that page (or one soon after it) find the phone number following the words "United States Marine Corps"...

- Give 'em a call - I'm sure they'll help you out...

Hey AmericanWarrior47 - I'm sorry if we came across kinda strong. I was only reacting to the "free ammo" query because there are a couple times in my life where that exact question came up.

One situation is probably kinda obvious. When I was a Marine grunt, when things weren't looking so good other Marines would make sarcastic remarks about the "bright side" of being there - one of those was an unlimited supply of free ammo to shoot.

Another situation was years ago when I lived in Southern Arizona. A few of my better armed buddies and I would take groups of people out to the desert for a day of shooting. Being young, single guys we would always try to bring as many ladies as we could get interested in participating. Since I was usually bringing class-3 (registered, full auto) stuff the subject of ammo cost would always come up and it usually merged into another discussion of the gender breakdown of the participants. There was general agreement that certain shooters (female) could shoot for free and others (male) were expected to chip in something.

I doubt that my sentiments are rare in the class-3 community.

Sorry if my post stepped on any toes – it wasn’t intended that way.
