How far has YOUR AK gone?

10,000 rounds on the first one, then sold it, and it's still rocking and rolling.

I let it snow and rain on her, but never went so far as the pic.

Never done it myself, but know a guy who dumped a handfull of range sand into his SAR2 to settle an argument with an AR guy. Emptied a mag, throwing sand all the time.

I've got about 8K through my first MAK-90, but fired over about 10 years, with lots of care between. I can't mistreat it.

My NMH91 has over 9,000 rounds through it and still shoots great. The disconnector in the trigger pack just broke about a month ago but it still shoots. Working on replacing the disconnector now. I take care of the rifle but don't baby it.

Did you guys clean your weapons during that time or just leave them all mucky?

Troy from In Range has some pics over on the AK side of arf.com of his little Krink with 8000 rounds through it. I’ll say it doesn’t look nearly as bad as the above FAL.

I watched James nail the 300 yard gong with "ol dirty" when she had around 2500 rounds through her. She was filthy on the inside then (I looked at the bolt and receiver innards), I then watched him and Randy (Sledgehammer) bong the gong (10"gong- 300 yards) over and over.
This test or any test will also depend on what ammo is used, AND the gun chosen. This is my best guess, since I have seen a lot of fouling in 100 rounds with some ammo (as in Chilean, Indian, and some RG). James was using mostly Port .308 when I saw them last (and when those guys buy ammo, it takes a truck to haul it).
Nah, I'd never do my rifles quite like that, but I am glad to SEE someone do this. It shows what these rifles CAN and DO have a potential for. Just don't think for a minute that he won't challenge you for accuracy because she's dirty. He will. These fella's can shoot.
