Help! I have an unissued 59/66 yugo sks. Everything perfect on it,all numbers match, rifle in mint condition. Last night when going through my safe wiping em all down, my girlfriends son saw it and wanted to have a look. I took it out and showed him,and deployed the bayonet. Now the bayonet will not pull forward to release and go back into carry position! What do I need to do? :(

pull the bayonet sheath to the front and then swing it under.

make sure that little hook right behind the grenade launcher in this picture clears its retaining ring.

your pulling the lower sleeve right?

not the bayonet blade itself, just the black sleeve

Yep, only pulling the lower sleeve.

it should be kinda difficult to pull forward, unless you see a burr thats locking it up id suggest pull harder.

if you cant get it off at all then remove the screw holding it on and disassemble it.

the screw is peened on it will be hard to get off.

Got It! Cleaned out some old cosmoline from inside the slide, now works with ease!
