AMD-65 + OOW receiver

For the guys who have built an AMD 65 on a OOW receiver Did you have to shorten the receiver any ? and if not how did your top cover fit?
Im down to drilling the receiver to screw the front trunion in place but it seems to possibly need to be shortened to allow the top cover to be held in the right place. Thanks in advance guys.

Drop the front trunion in, then stick a mag in it, push it as far as you can to the rear. Then you wwill see how much. Usually minimal. If the mag is tight after assembly. Take a little off at the rear of the magwell.

Install the trigger guard, either with machine screws on a tempory basis or rivet them.
Use that to install a magazine in the receiver.
Set the front trunion using the front mag hook as a guide.
Scribe the cutoff line on the front of the receiver and cut, usually slightly long then file to fit.
Set the front trunion premanently or with machie screws.
Use the front trunion as an index point and set the receiver cover on.
Use the cover as the guide for placement of the stock and it's components.
Rember not to set the rear permanently until the barrel has been pressed and headspaced.
