View Thread: FCG pin reinforcements inside milled reciever

SA M5
While cleaning the inside of a semi-auto Bulgarian milled reciever the other day, I noticed that there are 2 reinforcements milled into the inside right "wall" where the 5mm holes for the trigger/disconnector and hammer pins terminate. I'm wondering if anyone here can tell me if the selectfire milled Bulgarian recievers would have a similar reinforcement where the autosear pin terminates? I imagine it would but would very much appreciate if someone could confirm this. TIA!

I have an Arsenal SAR m1s here in Finland.. and I have thought that also. I think that the auto sear doesn't have the reinforcement (maybe because it doesn't get hit so bad as hammer and trigger)
At least SAKO m62 FA doesn't have a reinforcement in that area.

The safety sear has to ride flush against the side of the receiver. If the reinforcement or thicker area is there it would be all the way up to the lower rail, not just a step at the axis pin.Maybe somebody in Finland or somewhere can post a pic of an original instead of a converted one in the US.There is a guy in Canada selling Galil receiver halves sliced down the center lengthwise. He only sells one side.I forwhich nut I think the right side because the left side has the serial number. He sells sections too but with one piece missing at the bolt locking lugs.I doubt his sections would be legal in the US and it may well be the left side he sells I forget. He has pics on the internet somewhere.

Yes,

A pic of the reinforcement area/plates might be of some benefit here in the US, lots of semi-auto/NFA post-sample receivers could be saved, and I have seen receivers with stretched FCG holes.
