CFS Galil Parts Kits

I have been waiting since January 07 for a Galil kit from CFS and I got it shipped to me today.The kit was rough as I expected, but the bolt carrier retracting knob has all the knurling worn off and dented up badly. Also the front handguard is almost worn away to a sliver and broken. The thing that I noticed was there were only two numbers on the parts; 53 on the bolt carrier and 60 on the bolt and that was it. The bolt was severely cracked at trhe locking lug and about to break off if used again in a build. I have never built a Galil or dealt with one, but this kit seems to be a bomb waiting to go off.
Are these kits made with numbered parts as other AK guns are? Can I change out the bolt as this is a milled receiver gun? I will call tomorrow to see what they will do as far as helping me get a decent kit. :huh_small

I am sending the entire kit back for an exchange as this one is a dead horse. It can be sold as individual parts, but not as a build kit.

i finally gave up on CFS and there parts kits. if you complain enought they will exchange kits, but you end up eating all the shipping. what ever savings there was is lost. it's like they buy the left over stuff after all the rest of the wholesalers get there stuff. they have become the "hunters lodge" of the business. good luck on you parts kit.....

I am waiting on my replacement kit which should be here this coming Friday. I am giving CFS one more chance on this deal and if the kit is crap, I will send it back for a total refund.

Get the kit? I never had any probs with them.

I got the second kit a week or so ago. It was rough but in much better shape than the first kit and it is buildable. CFS is not perfect, but they made my experiance worth it. It is not like we can walk down a row of tables and pick out the kit that looks the best!

Yeah, I got some really good kits from you Bob. Primo, as new, Tantals and PMKMS'; not to mention the Bulgys that were in the same condition. I am still looking for a Tantal sling and mag bag! :wink_smal It was nice when you had a vendor who would (could) do that for you,...EH,...AB?
