View Full Version : Palmetto State Armory Introduction

Palmetto State Armory
02-25-2016, 05:14 PM
The history of Palmetto State Armory is quite simply the true definition of the American dream! Veteran Jamin McCallum returned from deployment with the same passion and demand for excellence in business that was instilled in him through the military. As an avid gun lover and business man, he soon noticed that there did not seem to be a customer friendly company available for everyone from the everyday gun enthusiast to the serious collector. With the help of a few family members and friends Palmetto State Armory was created to meet those needs.

Starting as just an ammunition and magazine website based
out of his garage, PSA has now grown into a full service company represented by the website, retail placement, stores, ranges, and its own personalized firearms brand. The Palmetto State Armory Classic AR has gained an impressive cult following across the country originating from a word of mouth campaign singing the praises of its durability and level of craftsmanship far exceeding Jamin 's wildest expectations. "Going to work every day is a dream come true"

The company's values and commitment to excellence are based on a belief that every hard working American deserves the right to a high quality firearm at a fair price and is instilled in every one of the 300 plus employees. This dedication to the blue collar American is reflected in every aspect of the company from retail pricing and warranties, to manufacturing, to customer service. As the company continues to grow PSA has made a vow to both the consumer and internally to continue to strive to become the go to firearm of the hard working American! With a dedication to quality and customer service, Palmetto State Armory has their sights set on continued excellence and growth in the future!

We look forward to working with the AK community to deliver quality AK products.

AWESOME! Hope you are wearing your vests and K-pots. This place, well, the monkeys tend to speak thier minds.

From surp pistols, AR parts/kits, PA10, VZ2008, and other "too goo to be true deals", you have helped keep my back account empty for quite some time.

Keep up the excellent work you do and don't let the naysayers get to you.

It's ridiculous how well free shipping works. Myself included. It's sometimes been the deciding factor of a large purchase where the shipping was irrelevant when compared with the total. Lol. I always laugh when I see something like a barrett .50 at an online store for like $8k and it has $10 shipping. I just think, "give it free shipping, it's freaking $8k you're getting." Lol.

Thank you for your suggestions. We will look into what kind of promotions can be done.

We got our start by offering distributor level pricing to the public. Unfortunately, that kind of structure does not allow room for special discounts.

I wouldn't say nobody, I haven't met an AK dealer/distributer that didn't sell to me. Hastle im sure but I'm hoping psa chimes in on this for a text book reason. 90 % of dealers/ manufactures will sell lowers to Mass so why bow down to a No lawful reason?

We will take another look at the policy.

We find it more profitable not to irritate State governments that have demonstrated a dislike for our industry, and have an army of lawyers with an unlimited amount of taxpayer cash to fund them.

While our lawyer would love it if we built his third vacation house, it would lead to higher prices, and nobody would be happy, except the attorneys:small_gri:eek:...

I like the psa products I have bought and the new ks47 I am adding a adams arms piston kit to looks real nice, I just wish I did not have to drive to town to sign for the products I buy. I don't go to town much. Just like to make guns and shoot. Actually I would have liked to get the ks upper without the carrier the trigger and safety parts and also without the stock as those parts just go in the parts box in the corner. I realize the carrier is a little lighter than the aa piston one but the adj gas block should take care of the difference I think. The aa piston kit took some thought to fit it in the upper channel of the neat ks hand guard but it's done.

Just ordered a 1:8 SS heavy MOE Freedom kit, and 4 mags. This is my second PSA rifle kit purchase, with the first being a CHF Premium FN bbl carbine. I know the quality and the prices are great. It would be even better if the company didn't charge the full shipping price for the magazines, when the rifle kit has free shipping and they will just throw them in the same box with the rifle.

<sigh>

We used to do that. It led to all kinds of issues, from missing upper parts to damage to the upper.
The uppers and kits are now sealed, and ship in their own package. smaller items ship in their own box.
Trust us, it works out better and faster for you this way.

Good job guys.

Thank you for your comments and opinions. We appreciate that you took time from your busy day to let us know how you feel.

We have politely answered the question twice. That you do not like the answer, or that the answer does not confirm some unwarranted deep suspicion you harbor, is not our problem.

PSA was started by a veteran, and arms enthusiast, who did not like the prices being charged for quality AR15 parts and thought he could do better. Our growth and success has been a testament to his vision of high quality parts at working man prices. We strive to be the best value in the market without sacrificing the quality of components. We have accomplished that by taking advantage of some standard economic principles - produce in volume, without sacrificing quality, and pass the savings along to the customer.

We have ruffled a few feathers, mostly of those that liked the status quo and did not want the competition. However, competition is what keeps vendors honest and prices realistic. Most free people enjoy and appreciate this aspect of the market system.

Our products come with a lifetime warranty against defects in materials or workmanship for the original purchaser. In the unlikely event that there is a defect in your product, we will gladly repair or replace it.

If a commitment to quality parts, at low prices, with a lifetime warranty, is something you cannot support, please do not recommend us.

Please have a nice day.

I don't give a crap that your company was started by a "veteran."

All I want to know is who is making your rifles, barrels, etc.

You can wrap yourself up in the American flag all you want, but you are just being an asshole by not answer simple questions.

Thank you for the inquiry.

Barrels not specifically described as being from another manufacturer (IE: FN Manufacturing) are made by Palmetto State Armory.

Again, if quality parts, at low prices, with a lifetime warranty offend you, please do not recommend us.

Have a nice day.

Oh yeah, I can smell it.
You know ... that smell in the air right before lightning strikes.

FWIW, I'm hoping to take my newly acquired PSA upper to the range this evening for some function testing and aroma therapy.
Looking forward to it.

<sigh>

We used to do that. It led to all kinds of issues, from missing upper parts to damage to the upper.
The uppers and kits are now sealed, and ship in their own package. smaller items ship in their own box.
Trust us, it works out better and faster for you this way.

IDK, think you could have wrapped my beer in ducktape and I'm sure it would have been just fine.

While were at it, could you take high quality photos of your roll-a-dex and post those too. If you are unable to post pics you can pm them to me and I will post them for you.

I see who the real troublemakers are...:D

Ok, Gotta let you guys know about this. This has been bugging me for over two years. Yeah, I was butt hurt lol.

First off I can't say this enough. You guys have great products at reasonable prices. I've been a loyal customer for personal use for some time. Also, being originally from South Carolina I took pride when I heard about you guys and what you were about.

Now to what's been bothering me for two years...and this is petty but it stopped me from ordering from you guys for a while. I'm back now, I just ordered a new FNS from you. But since I noticed that you're on the Files I thought I'd take this chance to say it.

SHOT SHOW, (I'm a non sales related manager at firearms related company to be vague) Right after Kalashnikov passed away, we were putting a little something together to mail to his daughter Elena to be placed in the Kalashnikov
memorial museum in Russia. A buying rep (white heavy set white guy with a beard) from PSA stopped by my booth and I asked him if he'd like to write a note or sign the memorial book and he scoffed at me loudly and looked at a picture of Mikhail Kalashnikov that I had and said "No thanks I'm not a freaking communist, I'm a red blooded American now tell me why I need to carry your product in my store". I wanted to tell him that I'm also not a "communist " but an Army Veteran and a red blooded American as well, just not an asshole, but being a manager I just said that I'd be glad to find someone that could explain that to him.

Not sure if you know who I'm referring him to but y'all should send him over to Orangeburg to learn some Southern Hospitality, LOL. Alright I'm good now.

Sorry to hear that. We had more than a few "characters" working for us back then. I know the owner is an AK fan and probably would have taken you up on it.

Am still a novice to the civilian versions of the AR 15, and have purchased the three lowers and one Premium FN barreled mid length upper from PSA that I own. Have also purchased some mags and a BCG from PSA. Will be getting more from PSA as able. Not to say that I am stuck on PSA, however, am satisfied with what I have acquired so far and recommend PSA when ever I have the opportunity.

PSA premium line rifles are probably the best value in an ar15 these days. This is fairly well known and the amount of business PSA does speaks for its-self.

As per a recommendation from PSA earlier in this thread I have a middy 16" melonite on the way and am going to build it up. I expect to be pleased.

I've spent a few bucks with you since Memorial day weekend. One mock dissipator with the rifle length MOE hand guard. I now have 3 complete AR15s from you. Some pieces are "blems." I really for the life of me can't find anything wrong except a scratch on a delta ring, and one lower was more grey than black. I "painted" the lower and upper with Motorkote and it is beautiful. I did however email your people because the sales notices stopped coming. That was this past Monday. No response as of yet. I am liking the looks of your ammo/mag deals. Just never get the notices. I may get one more AR15. What I am really interested in is one of your AR47's. I have my I.O. It is what it is. Not really interested in another AK. Working 14-15hr days I forget to check your site for the deals.

edit: saw the $79.99 free ship BCG.............ordered!
