I was digging through my safe and found a new 22 conversion kit for a Chinese (I think) AK with 2 30 rd. mags. I had forgot about it and have never used it. I do remember it took 8 or 9 months to get. Does anybody know what its worth? Its still in the plastic case with all papers. I dont even remember what I paid for it! TIA, Double

Th,e unit is about $140, I think, and the 30 rnd mags are pretty expensive. They're still available, I believe. I started to get one, then thought about it. It would cost amost what 2 cases of ammo would, and .22 isn't nearly as much fun, no matter what you shoot it from. So I canned the ides.

7.62x39 is not. It's also not welcome at more than a few outdoor ranges, particularly in AK format. It's not welcome to fire at steel pistol gongs, either. The .22 unit is. The .22 is also better for training kids and women, or just making them aware of the fun potential in auto rifles. You can do a lot of fun things with the very quiet .22 CB Caps in such a .22 conversion, too. Just because you are a powermad type does not mean that everyone is. Some of us appreciate a swift, quiet, well-placed shot, not just lots of misses, with lots of noise.

Some of us shoot at more than 50 yds, also. I don't shoot indoor ranges, or pistol gongs. And in FL they raise women and children that can shoot an AK without peeing down their legs. You an ask several people about "powermad types". I'll stand on their comments. You need to get your head out before posting personal comments about people you don't know.
