View Thread: Switching out Polymer Furniture on SAM7

How hard is it to pull off the black polymer furniture on an Arsenal SA M-7 and put on the classic wood furniture? Is it pretty much just buy it and change em out? or is the gun different?

Minor fitting may be required. Things are also usually tight. They should be tight.

There may be parts count issues.

This is actually funny because I changed out a pre-89 Norinco Stock set about a month ago without a problem but when I just tried to take the stock of my SAM 7 C to put on some wood furniture I couldn't get it off for nothing! You would think a 19 year old stock would be fixed to a rifle more solid then a relatively new one! Urg.

Sorry, Small Rant. :0)

Keep in mind that the lower handguard is slightly different for milled and stamped receivers. ALso keep in mind that the milled receivers on SAM7's are double tang, so you need a stock that is cut accordingly. In my experience, most of the time spent fitting is on the stock to the receiver, so as to get a nice flush fit to the back of the receiver. The 2nd most time spent would be the receiver stub on the bottom rear of the lower handguard. It oftern needs filing to fit into the bottom front of the receiver.

Here's some instructions for AK take down in case you need it.
