As I am building and adding my compliance parts I am getting a box full of non US parts. What are you doing with the perfectly good, new parts? Seems like a sin to chuck them

Keep them (best) or sell or trade (OK), never throw away. I'm not sure what the rules are while you're working on a rifle, whether you can temporarily put a known-good import FCG in to replace a questionable US FCG. Also, if you have an import part (a thumbhole stock, for example), can you modify it into an AK-style buttstock and count it as US, since it has been changed to be unrecognizable as the original piece? Could you use a thumbhole stock as the material for a pistol grip and call it US made?
I keep all the parts I have replaced, and I have some furniture that has been modified, some only slightly and some past the point of recognition, that I keep, wondering how it is classified. (I didn't get the name "Packrat" for nothing.) Perhaps someday the gun laws will be declared unconstitutional and a violation of our civil rights, or (more likely) our guns will be outlawed and it will all have to be disposed of (I have a person who is not affected by the US gun laws that will take them, at least), and there won't be a peoblem any longer..

Now that the ban has expired does this quote from Packrat have any merit? I am searching for solutions with a Chinese milled receiver thumbhole.

I keep the parts for future use.
As I am buying parts to build into a registered Short-Barrel Rifle - which doesn't need and US parts - I can use the extras on this as repair/replacement parts.
The full-auto fire control group parts I will be modifying so they can no longer function in any mode but semi-auto or safe.
The buttstocks and other stuff will probably go into other builds somewhere down the line. I am acumulating so many extra AK and FAL parts that I could probably stock a table at a gun show one day.
