curious on rankings

i have been a member for a litttle while now and have noticed folks that have been here less time have become senior members, i dont have a problem with this at all, and will continue to come here for the latest AK news. is it a posting thing that increases rank? if so i'm happy with just being a member as i dont always post when i visit the site. again just curious how this thing works? :confused:

Ranking is based on number of posts.

Some posters (not you) are pretty rank before they join :wink_smal
