Ordered them from Joeken's 2 weeks ago. Not bad in spite off all I've read about their poor service. Anyways, I got out the dial vernier and started checking the front trunion holes against the trunion. Everything seems to line up. The rear trunion holes are perfect. The only problem I've found so far is the safety selector hole on the left side of the receiver is about .001"-.002" undersize. This should be an easy fix with a reamer or is there a drill size someone can recommend?? Either way, I'll have to buy it(drill or reamer). I also know I will have to deal with the ejector hardness. I've got a welder buddy so will probably just use Kasenit to harden since he has some and says it works well. Where do I find the spec for how much to grind the ejector down for use with 7.62x39 ??? I know from reading somewhere here that it's too wide and needs to be ground. By the way, these receivers have the serial #'s stamped up in the front of the receiver. So far, not too bad from what I can see, especially for $34 !!!!!

Now, unless I'm mistaken, the Vulcans are already 'ready' for 7.62x39 - check the stamp on the receiver, it will say. It should be good.
The ejector length problem is *usually* grinding down rails for attachment to 80% receivers. Normally the issue is that, since the only rails you can find are usually for 5.45x39 caliber, you have to grind them down to accomodate the larger 7.62 size, which is further from center.
Its funny, I just went through all the measurements for the rail length for my Plum '74 Ace builds just last weekend...

I do not suggest a power tool for the selector hole.. I would only use a rat tail file..
.001-.002 is not a big deal.. you want a tight fit, and I'd bet these are let undersize to accomidate different selectors...

Nope. The Vulcans are set up to be either/or. The ejector is long enough to work for 5.45 so it has to be ground for 7.62. The mag well is also tight on a 7.62 mag and usually has to be opened a little. The biggest gripe I have is that the front trunnion holes are a little too far back and have to be ovaled out for the right location. If you go with the location as is, the the trigger guard location will probably have to be moved and the back of the mag well opened up. I've done it both ways. Also, they're known for having soft ejectors, but the latest batch are supposed to be heat treated.

The mag well is perfect on any of my 7.62 mags. Also, like I said, I got the vernier out and the front trunion holes seem to be exactly where they should be, at least as compared to my SAR1. The safety lever went in just by working it a bit. Maybe they got their $h!t together on this latest batch of receivers!! I guess I won't know for sure until I go to set the front trunion in, but all measurements seem perfect. I also compared the ejector to my SAR1, I hope this is a valid comparison, seems like it should be. The ejector is a bit wider than the SAR. It shouldn't take much with the dremel to bring it down . Am I safe to use the dimensions on that from my SAR1 ?? Sorry for all the newbie questions, this is my first build of any kind of firearm.

You're starting pretty well. Asking questions is better than making mistakes, and cheaper too. This is a good place if you need help.
Your SAR is probably about as good a place to get measurements as anywhere. I prefer using hand tools to power tools--you don't mess up as bad as quickly. Especially for small changes.
