Barrel Info

I have a M70 virgin barrel and would like to know if it is possible to have it hard chromed. If so, who does this kind of service. Also where to have it completed, as to press on the sites ,gas chamber, and so on. Thanks for Your time.

Normal rifling isn't the best for chroming. Plus, adding chrome will reduce bore diameter, POSSIBLY making it unsafe to shoot standard 7.62x39 ammo. Barrels destined for chroming are bored and rifled "too big" so as to have a normal bore when the plate is applied.

Why chrome it? Unless you're building a legal full-auto and plan to shoot 1000's of corrosive rounds under military field conditions without cleaning it, it'll make no difference to accuracy nor to the corrosion of the barrel.

I don't know , but purchased mine from the Indy Gun Show
