galil conversion question

HI all

I am in the middle of my hunter galil conversion...my question is, I am hanging the handguard, do I need to weld or tack or glue that rear handguard hanger or does the tension lever hold the assembly in place?

The rear handguard retainer in held in place by the barrel. It goes around the barrel and sits flush with the front of thr receiver.
