Brit. DPM for no other reason than the fact that it looks cool. :cool_smal

For the way they look, in this order:
1. Tiger Stripe
2. Woodland
3. that crazy gray and black urban
4. others

My absolute favorite camo pattern is the Russian Berezka pattern, followed by VSR, Flora, and Tiger.

a freind was recently down in SanDiego at a Marine Raider reunion... he was also shooting at Camp Pen... went to the cash exchange and picked me up some of the latest Marine Corps issue upland woods pattern... its pattern is digital.. and it looks really cool.. the material also has the Marine Corp emblem in the patter every so many feet... definatly my favorite.

Russian Flora, Swiss Alpen, and British DPM because it works here in OK depending on the seasons.

Saying that, I want some of the new Marine camo!

The are a bunch of them: Rhodesian, the French Lizard pattern, the US 6 color day desert, the German WWII Tan & Water. I think that I like the US Vn era ERDL (aka Leaf Pattern) the best.

It's all good.

I'm even fond of some Swiss Alfenflage (sp?) in the basement. The pants and the coat is reinforced at the knees and elbows with rubberized stuff. Great equipment, dirt cheap.

OK, I'll step out and say Mossy Oak. Because it is cheap on closeout at Sportsmans Guide or Wal-Mart and it works well in the woods around here.

#1 - Woodland camo - fits the majority of my aops.
#2 - Woodland marpat - a close second for the same reasons.
#3 - Desert marpat - fits the lower of my aops very well.
#4 - 3 color desert - a good generic desert pattern.
#5 - Olive drab - a good generic forest color.
#5 - Jungle stalker - a good alt. to #1 & 2.
#6 - Danish camo - would like to try but not very available.

Rhodesian (works good about anywhere here during the fall)
Original Tigerstripe (works good in spruce/cedar/pine here in the foothills of the Adirondacks
Tan to Water/ brown Lepoard German/Austrian reversiable Zeltbahn (for wind/water protection)
Canadian/Brit DPM for general use in the fall.
Would love to get hold of either CADPAT or MARPAT for general use during our spring/summer months.
German Flecktar for spring/summer/fall general use.

I always liked the way the DPM looked and the alpenflage too. Im not really sure why I wanted it since I dont hunt but I ordered a set of both anyway. I guess its still the "G.I. JOE" facination I had as a kid. I think I like to have things just in case I would ever get into hunting. When I looked out my window this morning it sure looked alot like the alpineflage outside! seems like the perfect fall camo. Cant wait to get it.

Ghille (sp?).....the hand made kind......can't be beat. The store bought kind are to heavy and Not as good for real use.....plus they are really pricey .....

You can fix you system with netting to change to match the environment which beats having all the diff. camo stuff PLUS the Ghillie is not unidimensional material which works much better.

Don't really have a favorite. I don't care for the urban stuff. Kinda looks like armcahir command stuff. HEY, that is what I am!

I really like Flectar. I guess my second choice would be Rhodesian. I am getting into the Russian camo but it looks an aweful lot like US Camo. I like the new USMC digital stuff also. You can keep the hunter real tree and all that.

The biggest problem I have with camo clothing is the size. They just don't make camo clothing that will fit big guys! :sad_small

Marpat of course. 'Cause it works and we're the only service that can wear it. It's patented. :wink_smal

at least the marines get marpat, the new pattern for the airforce is just plain ugly. Somewhere I have a picture of the new camo pattern in blue and gray. SOmeone did another pic I have as a joke where it shows the new AF camo on one side and the shirt being reversible to a tropical hawain (sp?).

For me I like the rhodesian pattern, but figure if the camo works that is the best thing. Funny thing here in AL is the amount of people that wear some form of camoflauge as part of their daily wardrobe. :D :laugh_sma

I love the Rhodie pattern, myself. I've taken to sewing a non-subduded shoulder patch of some sort (usually a US flag) on my field jacket ever since I nearly lost it on a trip back in college. I took it off & set it one the ground for a bit, then had a devil of a time finding it again. (And, no, alcohol or other chemicals were not in use...)

1. Woodland, good general purpose.
2. German Fleck
3. Alpenflage, great in the fall in my area.
4. Old white bed sheet and spray paint (home made winter flage parka).

Safariflage! It's the best general purpose camo I've found.

Brown and tan is a much better camo color than green.

I've always like the looks of TigerStripe. Coolness factor way off the scale. But it's too dark for most uses.

Where I live, semi-arid western Colo. with scrub cedar and sage brush, and where I grew up, south-west Nebr. prairie, the six color desert works like a charm.

Yyou'd never see my favorite. My choice varies with the surroundings, and is/was never one.
If ya choose one, you would be incorrect sometimes (unless distances are long). I will always believe, there is no one choice, a ghillie suit is great. The question you ask has more than one answer, always will.

My favourite is of course is what I am issued. The AUSCAM in either standard or desert DPCU.

Cheers from 'down under'
