View Full Version : SKS stock problems. Help
I have gotten 2 SKS orginal wood stocks and neither one will fit. The crosspin hole in the stock's is too far to the rear. About a half a hole off. My SKS is a 16" barrel para with the 10 round box mag. I've had it about 17 18 years and the original stock was trash. Wood this gun take a special stock? Thanks.

are you getting the right wooden stock? Which varient did they come off of? They could be different? I've never tried swapping stocks between my yugo and chinese sks's but my guess is they could be made differently?

Aim Surplus brought in some SKS stocks that take a bit of inletting to fit to a particular rifle. From the problem you are descriing it sounds like you have one of these stocks. To make it fit you will need to trim the front of the stock to allow the action to fit the cross bolt hole. This "how to" may help.

Is you sks made in china? If it is they make a stock for the screwed in barrels and the pinned barrels. The cross pin is in different positions. I have had the same problem.
