Damn she's purty. All matching ORF kit. Three piece plum set from Sergei (ruseller) in Matushka Rossiya that took 4 or so months but was WORTH IT! :cool_smal Silver inspector stamp on the bottom of the lower handguard, mold numbers on the grip. Izhevsk sharped edge (non rolled) smooth buttplated metal stock (from Oleg) using a new 4.5º trunion w/ 5.5mm hinge pin. G2 insides, Grasshopper's floorplate on an Izhevsk plum mag and K-Vars piston, an "old style" optics side rail from Tantal (Doug), all on a Ted's scratched on GT receiver. Tough builds these folders. Right up there with RPK's. Enjoy it...................it was a lot of work................... :wink_smal

Words simply due not express the beauty of that rifle, I was searching Google looking for pics of Russian Soldiers (www.youtube.com) carrying rifles such as that pictured all week, last week. I am now in "HOG HEAVEN". I have an SAR-3 with bakelite furniture, a Krink comp, and russian red bakelite mag, the poor mans way to do it...........but nothing as nice as this1 Thanks again!!! "SWEET"!!!
How might I contact this ruseller guy? I need a plum pistol grip to go with the plum buttstock and handguards that came with a kit I received.

These particular ones aren't for sale but I still have a few Bulgy kits that will be built into both triangle folders and 100-series (modern plastic stocked folder) that will eventually be sold. You'll just have to keep your eyes open for the day. I don't "do builds". I build them and then sell them.
I do have a clone 7.62 MPi-KMS E.G. folder for sale right now. Interested?? :D

Just curious, why was "870" hand engraved on the dust cover as opposed to being machine engraved like everything else?
using a new 4.5º trunion w/ 5.5mm hinge pin
Would you please elaborate on what you're talking about here?

Hand "scratched". Yeah......I know...........I just copied what I've seen in every picture of a "modern" (74) Izhevsk rifle I've ever seen. Check out all of Rob Stott's pics over on ARFCOM.
As far as why they do that???? Who knows?!?!?!?
The trunion? The newer "100 series" folding stocks and straight edged, smooth buttplate Izhevsk metal stocks use a different trunnion than all the Bulgarians and the older Tulas (Krinks?). All the Bulgarians have the rear of the receiver cut to (and trunnion angled at) 6º with hinge pins of 4.5 mm dia. These newer trunions (plastic stocked) are set at 4.5º and the hinge pin diameters are 5.5 mm dia.
So, I guess that means that I won't be able to use the new DCI AK74 folder receiver with one of the plastic folding stocks? I was hoping that it would be as simple as replacing the metal stock with a plastic one. I guess that's why RUSELLER sells the full plastic folder stock set with all the hardware?

Hi Tomovich, No doubt about it, you definately do nice builds, and most of the time politically correct in every detail, but..........The plum furniture and all the newer configurations in the AK-74 platform just don't intrigue me. Then again, if we all liked the exact same things in life it would be boring. Maybe I'm just old-school in the way I tend to view the AK-74. I just loved the last one you showed with the wood stock and all its originality, Just beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. Keep up the excellent builds my friend, cause we all definately enjoy the pics of them all. T.C. Ken from Pa.

If you go to the 'akforum' and check out DCI/NODAKSPUD'S forum you can read the thread where they announced this receiver you mention and all the discussion about it and these trunions. It makes for a good read. You are sort of correct on both counts. You CAN do some mods and get the plastic stock to work with the old trunion and receiver but it's a real project. You have to open the holes up in the trunion and make sure they're CONCENTRIC! You have to widen the gap between the upper and lower hinge of the trunion because the space (and stock's hinge) is wider on the newer setup. You'll have to make a new 5.5mm stepped down to 5.0mm hinge pin. And you have to hope and pray that it will line up with the latch hook up front when you fold it because the angle is different by 1.5º, hence postition of the stock is different when folded.
Yes, that's why Sergei sells them together. :wink_smal

Politically correct? You mean TECHNICALLY correct?? I do it all from a collector's point of view. And believe me, I have a large bunch of those gorgeous Russki wood stocked AK's and RPK's also.
Thanks................I think..................... :cool_smal

If you're referring to the MPi-KMS clone? Yes, I haven't been trying real hard to move it. It's still leaning against the wall in my living room as a matter of fact. :D

I am indeed referring to that little beauty. I had looked for the ad a little while back and could not find it, so I assumed it was sold. PM me and refresh my memory if you would.
