View Thread: looking like i got screwed

flopshot
four months ago i sent smittygj a money order for a flat bending jig and have recieved nothing but reasons it hasn't shipped. he won't respond to my last pm at gunco from last week but he is active on a couple other boards.
he's at guns and ammo, quarterbore, and a machinist board. don't deal with him. this is dissapointing as i tend to trust most people that have even a pinch of reputation and or history. my main intent was to build an AK
with my neice when she came home from school. that was july first and she had to go back to OK last saturday so that's gone to shit. so smitty, if you're out there, thanks pal, you really made my fucking summer. if you can't get a machinist to do your work, and you can't keep a computer running, and have still not learned how to backup a data file, and you still think your customers believe your email comes to your computer and can get lost, how about being a man and sending my money back bud ? i don't want the jig because it would probably not work. if you can't do that grow a set of eyes in the back of your head, they'll come in handy down the road.
this text will be posted verbatum at other boards .

smitty has responded at gunsandammo, gunco, and at weaponear. i'm going to give him more time as my immediate need has passed. i've asked him to keep me posted as to his progress and offered to accept the jig machined and unwelded. on a lighter note, Scott at DPH offered me the loan of a jig which i thanked him for and explained that i no longer needed it. just thought you should know about his offer.

there's something wrong with my PM function, so thanks to those that tried to contact me there.

Scott is loaning jigs??? HHmmmm :D

You know why this happens with jigs, kits, mags, and ammo??????? People LET IT HAPPEN TO THEM. If a vendor doesn't have it stock NOW go someplace. You people get screwed BECAUSE YOU LET IT HAPPEN. When I order anything my first words are "do you have it in stock?" If the answer is no I go someplace else. It is SOOOOOO easy not to become a victim, a lot of you people should really try.

that is true ..i've ordered enough stuff from vendors as to know who i can trust as who is gonna deliever. but sometimes you want a part that only one guy has..just gotta cross your fingers & hope it happens!!

Just read about a guy on the AKForum that waited EIGHT MONTHS for a product. Sorry I don't need ANYTHING that bad.

Dude you should get screwed more often! HA! Just kidden ya, but you built some nice stuff, mabey you should build and sell some tools. I could use a mini press like that. Sorry you got robbed.

don't buy from shady people. Stick with known trusted vendors. And, USE A CREDIT CARD!

masek77
I wonder if this is why a lot of people say they wont accept credit cards?

oakspring
They don't accept credit cards for two reasons:

1. They (businessman) have to pay for their customers convenience....and

2. The credit card company can side with the customer and instantly debit the Piss-Poor businessman's account. It's hard to steal from folks when the credit card companies steal it back from them. :huh_small
