Nice, very beautiful piece! All you need is a plum IZHMASH Model 6X5 bayonet to match!

Actually I've noticed on almost every single build so far, 7.62 or 5.45, that if I screw the front sight down about 1 1/2 to 2 turn to start with they are all right on. Almost all anyway.............
And thanks, it is gorgeous isn't it?!?!?
I like it!...Top work as always.
That looks very nice!

It really is a beauty...
Congratulations...
In the top photo it looks like two rivet heads arranged vertically just behind the magwell dimple of the AUSA receiver under where the front of the selector lever would sit when on 'fire.' I don't see anything in the closeup, except the cryllic lettering. It that just some freak light thing in the top photo? Just curious...
Thanks for sharing the great photos of the rifle.

That's the problems with all of our builds. If you do 'em nice, really spend time and make them a labor of love, they're twice as nice as something slapped together in a factory by someone making $35 ~ $40 US per month. :small_gri

Yep, just the cyrillic fonts with the white lacquer fill "glowing" in the sun. But you should be able to tell that by looking at the photo right below it showing the area in close up. :sidegrin_
Thanks guys!!!!! :small_gri

Thanks. I like it pretty much actually! Something about PLUM.
I do a bead blast (actually it's 50/50 mix of glass beads and fine A.O.) and baked on Brownell's Teflon-Moly and it worked great so far. That's about 25 ~ 30 builds??? Also, when you need a more glossy finish do the above and then before baking shoot a light coat of their GLOSS black bakiing lacquer over the teflon-moly. :wink_smal
YMMV. :small_gri

hey i can't blame you and ya "plum" is nice! i got me one of their black 74's and it looks just as sharp! Orf-is # 1 in my book. Your blast/paint set up sounds great! I will have to try a bead blast cause i have access to one. Now i have to get this black 74 done so i can keep up to you! lol JWC

I don't think you can refinish properly on bare metal without a bead or A.O. blast unless your hot bluing.
And thanks!

oh i c, ya i was thinkiing about just trying gunkote from brownells? Actually what i'm shootin for is a carbon copy of what it's already got on it.....But thanks for the heads-up on that material. Just waiting on damn tong to finalize a build right now.. Can't wait to move on to my-Bulgy! After all these romies are somewhat rough compared to the EXTREMELY nice Bulgarian quality shown in ur pic, the kits etc...... Got to LOVE ur Bulgy right?!!! JWC
tomovich, did you have Ted do those special markings before or after you did your assembly?

True, but people can use pictures of anything (and often do...)...
:)
Thanks,
