I have a 7.62 Romanian barrel with a 13mm. O.D. at the muzzle. I threaded it with a 1/2" x 28 die. An AR15 type brake threads on about half way and then bootoms out (I know the caliber is different). What are my options for attaching a compensator, prefferably a 74 type. Are there any out there that will screw right on? Or can I pick up an adapter to go from the U.S. thread to a Russian thread?

I did the same thing. Removed front sight base (so I could get tap to go all the way to where the sight base mounts). Then tapped 1/2 x 28, reinstalled the front sight base, and soldered on a threaded adapter from RPB. The adapter goes from 1/2 x 28 to 24 x 1.5 mm thread for the Bulgie AK74 brake. I blind-pinned the Bulgie brake to the aqdapter. My conversion was done for an SAR-2 in 5.45 x 39 and works great. For 7.62 caliber you would need to ream out the baffle and the exit port on the brake.
