What's new on "The Dark Side"?

They are not stamped with anything as of yet and this has been a conversation bouncing back and forth between the parties involved with manufacture and some members that have called me on this issue.

I see no need for USA marking, as for compliance purposes the BATFE does not make comment about marking as such.

The ORIGINALS that I have are not marked with any Zastava or "yugo" marks sither.

Give me your thoughts! I am OPEN for comments.

I think that all US made parts should be made with "USA" or "US" on them. It should be small and in a place that you can't easily see. This is the way most vendors do it. This way you'll have proof that it's a compliant part without having to keep track of paperwork. I have some US made parts that I literally can't tell from foreign made parts. If I can't remember, then I have to assume they're foreign made.

ATF may not require it, but the stamp of "US" or "USA" is undeiable proof that it is a compliant part, espeically when the original and new look almost exactly the same. IMHO, no biggie, but you probably will sell more in the long run if they are stamped as some guys are picky about that stuff.

LOL. yeah the Darkside is pretty much a rotation of the questions "What should I get for my first AK?, "Is this SAR-1 I saw worth $350?", and "Which is better, AK or AR" over and over and over these days. No intellectual content at all.

I am sure the grenade launchers will sell fine at your price point, but USA marking definitely would give them a "leg up" on any competition. Truth be told, I would have bought one of yours, but had already committed to Hotbarrel for an "extension" and didn't want to go back on my word.

I'll just have to get a second Yugo AK so I have an excuse to buy a grenade launcher, eh? :wink_smal

I'm working on it.

With "parts" in hand, I've noticed most of the manufacturere of these parts DO NOT mar them. RSA's trigger groups and gas pistons come to mind.

Even my FAL grip is not marked, but it is DIFFERENT than any other grip. These GLs are dead identical to the ORIGINAL ones,..so,...I'm working on it!

Moons ago I was doing a HEADS-UP on the TANTALS that my associate was importing. As I announced the product SLOWLY and CAREFULLY as to bring the FEVER to a SLOW COOK,....my "competitor" (competitor,..as people like to dream that there is competition between vendors) was commenting on other boards that he knew of no other TANTAL kits that were inbound.

My competitor has, and had back then, an IMPECIBLE reputation for information. He is well respected in this hobby. People as usual,...CHALLENGED ME about my INBOUND TANTALS. They remarked, as is common for them to remark, that I was full of smoke and there were NO TANTALS inbound for Akron Armory.

All of a sudden the TANTALS arrive!

I said,.."I guess I will have to show my Texan "collegues" how to BAR-BE-QUE properly!"

The rest is history, as not ONLY the TANTALS arrived,...but my ACE-in-the-HOLE Polish AKMSes were also on the boat. Ooooo la la!
