What a great web page!!!

I recently purchased a new SLR-95 and I want to make some upgrades to it. I would like to replace the thumb hole stock. and I would like to improve the trigger if possible. (Although the trigger is better than I expected)

Also, has anybody had any luck with mounting a red dot system on the rifle. I've seen a few with the replacement receiver cover, but I wasn't sure if it would lose it's zero after removing.

Any advice would be great thanks for the help!

If your receiver cover (the one you would get) is tight, it would probably return close enough to zero. You could make a small alteration to the rifle that would ensure that.

Do you have a muzzle device on the rifle, and is it original or US-made? If you want to put a pistol grip on it, you'll have to replace the stock. If you get a US-made stock and grip, that would be enough (with a trigger group replacement) to make it legal. (3 parts for the trigger group plus the stock; the grip doesn't count as it isn't replacing anything) If you have an imported muzzle device you'll have to replace something else; the handguards would be the most logical replacement.

Your trigger is a good one; it may be a bit rough, and it will always have a lot of creep (a long pull). If you polish the wings of the hammer, and the underside of the trigger hooks, and make sure the corner of the trigger hooks and the front end of the hammer wings (the edge nearest the pivot) are sharp and without burrs, you'll get a smooth, soft trigger. It's usually so soft you need the long pull for safety. If you want to shorten the pull (at your own risk!) you can put a pad under the rear of the trigger to lift it about .080". Just remember a short, soft trigger is asking for trouble.
