Who has AK-47 (vulcan) receivers in stock and currently for sale? I'll need on e for the AMD-65 I just ordered. :D

If you use a Vulcan you will end up with an extra hole to be filled because of the different mount of the rear stock on an AMD-65 + they are famous for rapid ejector wear. The OOW reciever has no wear issues and i have always had prompt service from them, they keep a large inventory in stock.

I would not suggest a Vulcvan reciever. I am currently building a AMD 63 and the front trunion holes are off by 1/16th of an inch to the rear. This means you will have to work on the mag well opening . The ejector is vert soft and will need to be heat treated. The "heat treated " reciever is very soft and I will be sopt heat treating later tonight. The internal rails to not seem to be at the correct height for function when the operating spring is in place. If you plan on buildiong an underfolder then you will be very close to the serial number. I have not looked at the side folder on the AMD 65 but I think it make a hole in the serial number ( I am not sure about that ).
This will be my first last and only reciever from Vulcan. I know they don't care but I would not suggest this for a first build.

My smith built my AMD-63 on a Vulcan without any problems. On the AMD-65 I'm planning on using a Romanian rear trunnion and putting on a RPS Krink non-folding (US) stock, Gorden Tech fire control group, US receiver, and a Moses AMD-65 brake. That will round out my rifle. :small_gri

When I was searching for my reciever ( only one I've bought sofar) I did hear that some of the Vulcan trunion holes might be a tad off ( but nothing serious ). I did not read anything about ejector wear issues. Do some researching and if you do decide that you want a Vulcan, email dsspro@msn.com. I sent him a MO and had my reciever in a week ( and wer'e talking coast to coast ).

nhcruffler that's who I got my last Vulcan from. It's on my AMD-63 which I haven't gotten around to shooting yet. I only picked it up from my smith in January.
