I am waiting for the BBT to deliver my latest kit, an AMD-63. I have built many AR types and a couple of FALS (considered to be my best builds). I can't wait to get started on the AMD, but I need to do some research. And that is the problem. All of my searching so far has led to guys doing their builds, finished their builds, or having someone else do their builds. BUT NO PROCEDURES. Where are the sites and reference manuals at that I can read and learn. I want to know how to headspace the darned thing and why is 2 hooks better than one, or is it the other way around. I don't want to go into this thing blind, of course that could be a good thing.
Thanks

Not 5 minutes after I posted this, BBT pulls up and delivers one of the prettiest rifles out there. The finish is 98% with a few marks around the bolt. The wood has no dings in it and the forward PG has just a few black scuff marks on it. All of the serial numbers match. Can't wait to get started, just trying to find out how.
1. Fit you triggerguard to the receiver first
2. Use a mag to locate the front trunnion
3. press barrel and check headspace
4. Use your rear cover to locate the rear trunnion
5. Refinish
6.Install fire control parts, stock and hand guards, bolt assembly, spring and cover.
Double hook or single hook? The double is stronger, some say smoother I can't tell the difference. The double will need an extra clearance slot in the receiver or a clearance cut onthe trigger. The single will work as is in any application, have never heard of one breaking so its plenty strong enough. I use whatever I can get, I like the G2 triggers
To check headspace use just the bolt and see if it will lock with the go guage and wont lock with the no-go guage. If it is out, adjust the barrel in the trunnion as needed, and use an oversized drill and pin, or weld the slot in the barrel and redrill.
