What are you guys using for a rear sling swivel? The original swivel was riveted to the rear of the receiver (in about the same location as found on the Romanian side folders). Aparently, the swivels aren't recycled from the old receiver on our kits. Have any of you found anything that looks close?

this is what the rear swivel looks like..

It can be made from a swivel loop or piece of chain link from a lamp type chain, found at the hardware stores..

and some thin metal fashioned as in the pic..

the tabs go through a rectangular slot in the receiver and are folded over...

Thanks man...... I saw that on AA-OK's sight before, but was unsure if that was the correct piece.
Just placed an order for one!

watch your overall length. if you are at 16.25, and add a p grip of any other design, you will go under 26" if the ban goes and we all fold. the heel of the original grip makes 26", but the typical aftermarket doesn't. one answer to the quandry is to add a triangle shaped loop to the left side of the rear trunnion by welding or silver soldering that the sling will hang on, and will also give you 26"+ in a strait line measure.

I was planning on using the Ace "AK/Galil" grip.....looks to have the same profile as the original, but I'll have to double-check the overall legnth (thanksfor the heads-up).

OR......I can move outta' this d@mn county and find a local Sheriff that'll sign off on a SBR, re-install the original muzzle brake and have no worries about legal legnth! :p :p :p

That is not the correct swivel. If you do end up using that one, the width of it will limit the types of slings you can use. The correct swivel and the better one is the type used on regular buttstocks, the long oval looking one. What I did is use the tab part of the swivel in the picture above with just a regular swivel off of a buttstock. You will need to grind off the tubular extensions that protrude from the tab part and after that just spread it open with a screwdriver, insert the oval swivel and close it with a pair of pliars and you're done.

If you are not striving for authenticity, a regular QD swivel works fine.
Just drill and tap the trunnion to 10-32, and screw in a swivel stud.

The Echo Nine Three V-3 is perfect for the AMD-65. It mounts under the grip and clears the stock fold button.

The product itself was designed in Afghanistan where the AMD is a prevalent weapon for the Afghan forces.

You can see them on the products page at www.echo93.com

An excellant answer to a question posted 7 years ago :wink_smal

The product did not exist 7 years ago! Or I would have given the same answer then! HAHAHA

I am the one who answered a 7 year old question. You should go get me a beer!

Well that certainly is looking at the glass half full :tongue_sm

Always good to have a hundred thousand number around to educate someone in the hundreds but given enough time all questions will be answered.

This will just be two months instead of the previous 7 years. But Echo Nine Three just released the V5/AMD. Specifically for the AMD.

it's easy enough to make the metal tab piece to attach a sling swivel in the correct place.
