A friend of mine in Europe told me he got a chance to look over a semi auto Hungarian 5.56 rifle. He says the inside parts are very similar to the Bulgarian 5.56 AK74M1A1.He says the magazine looks exactly like the the Weiger steel magazine.I have seen the bare receivers sold in America.I have a bolt from one that was brought back from Afghanistan. The bolt is the same diameter as the 7.62 bolt but the lower part that strips rounds from the magazine is longer/lower than the Bulgarian 5.56 bolt.It will not clear the Bulgarian 5.56 bullet guide. The bolt I have is well worn. The firing pin and extractor were missing.A 7.62 firing pin fits perfectly.I installed a 7.62 extractor. It grabs the 5.56 case a bit loosely.I'm not certain this bolt will clear a standard center support. It has a bit more metal sticking out the bottom of it.

We can only hope that one day these kits will be imported.

I would like to think that someday instead of kits, the import BS goes away and we could get new SA-85M rifles.....but someone told me that they are now a NATO country and don't make Aks anymore.....?

FEG no longer manufactures AKs.

They do make water heaters though, so if youre in the market...

Yep, no more AK's. Their 5.56 AK was the NGM.
Here's FEG's website for their current offerings...
