Need info on screw differences/length

AK Grip Screw/Base. Original Chinese long screw and screw base.
AKM Grip Screw/Base. Soviet style AKM long screw and screw base.


Whats the difference and which one will I need for my ak? I need to mount a US PG.

Get your screw and base from the same place, to help ensure they are the same thread, but so far I haven't found any that didn't work--Chinese, Bulgarian, Hungarian, Romanian all seem to be the same. I've bought unnamed screw and nut sets from TAPCO, and they seem to fit anything too. I don't think it makes any difference.
