Gunkote, Duracoat, Cerakote, and traditional Bluing and Parkerizing. I think there is a little of each in the pics.

Nice work.
Do you do any engraving, or removing of marks?
Do you put you mark on everything you do?

We can do the selector markings and stuff. I had a pic of the ones I did on an Egyptian we build....but I cant find them.

Haven't decided if the AK logo will be put on all the guns we do, but here it is. A modified Medium Machinegun map symbol from my Marine Corps Days...

But as of now this is the only mark we put on the guns we build (Per ATF specs)

Hate to sound ignorant, even if I am, but is that top one an etch or an engrave?

The scrolls are engraved by hand with a Gravermeister and different onglets. Then other markings are done by laser.

How do you put the red on the rear sight?

I really like the red/black/grey/tan paintwork, especially on the drum. Did you use a stencil to do that?

Thx, it's tedious work. Maybe I'll do an AK next....My wife learned gun engraving from a master engraver who insisted on the chase hammer method. Talk about tedious.... :sleep_sma

She put her graver down in the mid 1980's and never looked back.

Nice work on all the firearms, btw. :small_gri

I use the Brownells brand Gun-Kote, it still bonds to the KG Gunkote but bakes at a lesser temp and takes less time. Apply w a toothpick after the other has been baked on, clean up the edges w acetone, and bake.

Or you can do it Old School with Testors model paint in the same way.

I did, people like that hard edge look.

Yeah the way my finger goes numb for about 3 weeks after I try and limit my engraving to as little as possible

Question for you...

I wish that I had known about you folks before I built my PSL kit... I originally wanted to shorten my barrel down to 20" but didn't want to try and tackle that myself with the shop equipment that I have, so I went ahead and built the rifle. Now that I see you guys here... Can you shorten my barrel/recrown, and rethread( LH 1x14 )the muzzle without having to tear the whole thing down and destroy the finish work that has been done??? And rough cost???

Thanks!
:)

Mahan0331 - I like the camo job done on the rifle and mag in the second photo above, in particular. The other builds look great also. Thanks for showing them.
