HOW TO: Weld in lower rails?

First time posting, I just purchased 2 receiver flats and a Stamping Jig from a friend. I was wondering the best way to install these lower rails?


I received the receiver flats with rails, but without rivits, and no screws.

I just purchased a LINCOLN WIREFED MIG WELDER in addition to a small DRILL PRESS plus the STAMPING JIG in effort to put these together.

CAN I WELD THE LOWER RAILS ON?

What if I drilled a few extra holes in the receiver flat and put hand tighten the rails into place and then puddle weld? Will it be strong enough to withstand? I will get good penetration and heat with the welds... ?

ANY OTHER HELP OR IDEAS WOULD BE GRATEFUL...
