Cheapest I can find right now is Classic Arms $319.99
I buy from them all the time, they are good people and they ship fast.

The $299 was a "get 'em well they are hot" price that sold out quick. The $350 one J & G has now is a 20" barrel version, which is unique for 5.45 Saigas.
I have a 16" on my 5.45, what differences are there? Performance, more modern length?

I guessing the performance is about the same. Longer barrel and sight radius may equal slightly better accuracy. The unique part is that no 20" barrel 5.45 rifles have ever been imported in quantity to my knowledge. Sure, I've seen one-off RPK-74 builds here and there, but no factory barrels over 16" as far as I know.

first decide what the final outcome of your saiga should be..(complete or just adding pistol grip conversion) so that you can acquire the parts needed for your specific needs..then get your classic arms saiga on order before they run out...cbr

i've done acouple and i think to do the cheapest ak74 conversion is to buy a complete kit for $160 from atlantic firearms, use all the parts you need then sell the rest to get half your money back..after buying the gastube, gas block, fsb, brake, hg retainer, pistol grip nut/stud, cleaning rod and rear sight...you would have spent $130+sh if you can get your parts from the same seller..if you purchase a kit you can sell the frt/rear trunions, bolt carrier/ trigger mech, rear sight base and furniture for about $100 ..anyway just saying from my mistakes..cbr

Longer barrel will lend to higher velocity and range.

So worth it?

Any chance of the $299 deal returning?
Best bet would be to email J&G.
Probably has a lot to do with supply and competitors prices. I would guess that the closer we get to November, the chance of any "deals" will lessen.

My advice would be to get all you can before November, because prices will go through the roof if it looks like the zero will be re-elected...Both guns and ammo. You might have noticed that prices have been moving up...
